Please enjoy our latest item, a photo report from May 24th, 2012:

Now that the plane has been removed from the facade of Taste Pilot's Grill, work began to just continue the pattern

Everything looks the same from this point...

But low and behold, the walls around the Carthay Circle Theatre came down this day!

We're now going to take an in-depth tour around the premises of the Carthay Circle Theatre

Red Car Trolley marker in the pavement

And a handprint too for some reason

Isn't she beautiful!?

The side of the marquee

There are some really beautiful murals throughout Buena Vista Street

I really like this mural!

A little history

The tile work is exquisite! And I love the look of the galvanized metal drain pipe! Normally, I'd say yuck but here, it fits!

One of two "ticket booths". I wonder if members of the exclusive Club 1901 will use this to check in?

Even the lighting fixtures are intricately detailed

The entrance to the the building

The summer dinner menu for the Carthay Circle Restaurant (click the photo to enlarge)

These cast members were greeting the public and handing out cards. Quite the spiffy get-up!

These were the cards they were handing out, not so subtly advertising the now soon to open restaurant

The back side

You can walk through hallways along the edge of the building, a great way to avoid the sun for a bit

More fancy lights

One of the many cool windows and tile work

Facing the Carthay Circle, on the left side of the building

Could this be an entrance to 1901?

What ever it is, it's wonderfully detailed

Nicest. Stairs. Ever.

Another hallway, this time heading towards A Bug's Land

At the end of the corridor, looking out towards Condor Flats

Now, still in the same spot but looking towards Buena Vista Street

Turning to the right, we see more stairs

As well as an iron door with no lock

A glimpse of the back side of the building

At this point, Buena Vista Street was looking pretty complete

As of posting this report, previews of Buena Vista Street (and Cars Land) have already begun

For some reason, I really love this sign. It really helps tie the architecture of Buena Vista Street and Hollywood Land together

Peeking at Fillmore's Taste-In through the really green trees

A commercial was being shot in Cars Land

A cool new Grizzly River Run mug

Lots of new GRR merchandise in fact

Some generic DCA stuff

Over at Disneyland, a Grad Nite was being held, and that made the park VERY crowded!

Work continues at the Carnation Cafe. They have extended the tarps to quickly finish up the work without making things look too ugly

Thanks for viewing this photo report!
