Frozen - Live at the Hyperion
Photos and Review

Yesterday, the Hyperion Theater housed the World Premiere of the spectacular new broadway-style stage show, Frozen - Live at the Hyperion! I was lucky enough to attend the premiere showing of this phenomenal new show. Unfortunately, photography was not allowed during the performance, however, Disney did provide some stunning high quality images which I'll share bellow, along with some of my opinions on this show.

The show kicks off as the movie does, with "Frozen Heart". Just like the movie, this is the weakest number in the show

I think we can all agree that young Sven is just the cutest!

Things get really emotional during "Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?" The emotion is heightened through the use of these rotating doors, separating Anna and Elsa. Olaf is also first created right in front of your eyes in a pretty cool way during this scene

The show handles the death of Anna and Elsa's parents quite tastefully, as they simply dissapear quickly bellow the stage

Cut next to Elsa's coronation, which is one of the first scenes to really demonstrate how magically Elsa's powers appear on stage. Proceeding this scene is "For the First Time in Forever", which was when I was really pulled into the show. Everything from the movie is there, and more. With great performances and humor to really pull you into the story

The Duke of Weselton is definitely the funniest character to appear, with the performer really taking it to the next level with the character's weseal-like nature

Anna and Elsa share a brief, happy moment together

And here comes the true villain of the story, Prince Hans. "Love is an Open Door" is performed slightly more orchestral than the poppy version that appears in the film

If the "Let it Go" scene does not impress you, then nothing will. This is truly one of the most spectacular moments in Disneyland entertainment history. I'm not going to give any of it away, but this scene alone makes the show worth seeing!

The vibe of the show is (rightfully) different when Olaf appears and performs "In Summer". These performers are a fun way to expand on a cute moment from the film

Anna confronts Elsa in her palace for a reprise of "For the First Time in Forever", sans Marshmallow

One of the weaker moments of the film somehow becomes immensely more fun in this live adaptation. These trolls in "Fixer Upper" are a joy to watch!

This spectacular show ends with a reprise of "Love is an Open Door"

Check out some Disney provided clips from Frozen - Live at the Hyperion!

And that barely scratches the surface of this incredible show. I haven't even mentioned the new curtains that surround the stage, creating an almost 180 degree projection based backdrop for the show. There are some moments where you actually feel like you could be riding Soarin', really helping bring you one step closer into the story. Even if you've been tainted by the oversaturation of Frozen, I still highly recommend you check out Frozen - Live at the Hyperion! You'll be glad you did!
